This song is one of the more straight forward songs on the album. It was written for my wife about something specific I had told her about us being together forever no matter what. It's also about seeing all the grief of Skid Row and knowing what loss feels like and how all we have to do is live for love, because God is love.
lyrics
I saw a man in the street
Holding a Bible and a gun
Under the blistering sun
It’s all he had, it’s all he had
I won’t ever make it seem
Like I wanted everything
Like I needed anything
I just needed love
I don’t know how
How to find you when I'm gone
How to find you when I’m lost
It’s so hard, it’s so hard
I lost a lot of friends
Moving out to the West
Or from suicide death
It’s okay I do my best
I won’t ever make it seem
Like I'm living someone’s dream
Like I’m missing anything
I’m just living for love
You come in different frames
I forget to say your name
I just look you in the eye
I’ll never say goodbye
I hardly ever knew
What I do is, is for you
What I do is, is for you
I’m so crazy, baby
I won’t ever make it seem
Like I wanted everything
Like I needed anything
I just needed love
