This is a song inspired by theme songs from TV shows that made me emotional growing up and still do to this day. I named it after a show in itself because of the meaning of the lyrics. The lyrics signify a time apart from someone close and not wanting to buy into the notion that you can't connect with them any longer because it's not true, the devil lies all the time. It also references the idea of driving back from work and seeing the LA skyline up against the mountains in the background. Such a profound image.
lyrics
Driving back from work
Stop at the fountain
Look at buildings blur into mountains
I don’t wanna feel like I dissolved
Inside a well when I was young and I fell in
And I don’t wanna feel like I evolved
Into someone else you can’t connect with
Into someone else you can’t connect with
It’s not the truth
The devil’s in the details
It’s not my youth
To get along with anymore
To get along with anymore
Driving back from work
Stop at the fountain
Look at buildings blur into mountains
I don’t wanna feel like I dissolved
Inside a well when I was young and I fell in
And I don’t wanna feel like I evolved
Into someone else you can’t connect with
Into someone else you can’t connect with
It’s not the truth
The devil’s in the details
It’s not my youth
To get along with anymore
To get along with anymore
